Wilderness Orientation Goals

Wilderness Orientation was founded in 1983 to embody the following goals:
  • Learn basic backpacking and mountaineering skills.
  • Make friends while having a good time.
  • Create opportunities to discuss college life and unique features of a UCSC education.
  • Learn about one's self through wilderness challenges.
  • Build a greater awareness of the natural environment.
