Wilderness Orientation (WO)

Pt. Reyes Sea Kayaking and
Community Service

After you register online, be sure to check your email receipt. It has information about forms that you are required to return to us. These forms can also be found here.

The Sea Kayaking program will spend 7 days in one of California's hidden gems, Tomales Bay within Pt. Reyes National Seashore. We will travel by kayak with all of our gear and food moving from beach to beach. The last day will be spent doing service work in the park.

Dates:
Aug 29 - Sept 5, Sept 13 - Sept 20

(note: The first day will start at 3pm on campus and the program will end at 10:00am on Day 8

Cost: $550, includes food, transporation, group and kayak gear and instructors.

Itinerary: (subject to change)

    Day 1:
  • Regristration
  • Meet and Greet
  • Ice Breakers and Games
  • Dinner
  • Mellow Hike on campus
    Day 2:
  • Drive to Tomales Bay
  • Launch from Chicken Ranch
  • Paddle to Marshall Beach
    Days 3-5:
  • Paddle and Explore Tomales Bay
    Day 7:
  • Volunteer for Pt. Reyes National Seashoree
  • Drive back to UCSC and spend the night on campus
    Day 8:
  • Closing ceremony, goodbyes by 10 am
